Abstract: An aerosol-generating device is provided, including: an air inlet; an air outlet; an air flow passage extending in a first direction between the air inlet and the air outlet; a heating element in the air flow passage configured to heat an aerosol-forming substrate; a first temperature sensor configured to measure a first temperature at a first position along the air flow passage; a second temperature sensor spaced apart in the first direction from the first sensor configured to measure a second temperature at a second position along the air flow passage; and a controller configured to control an operating parameter of the aerosol-generating device based on the measured first temperature and the measured second temperature.
