Abstract: A collator comprising a frame and a plurality of removable bins. Each bin includes a bottom paper feed roller connected by a shaft to a sprocket or the like. A single motor driven drive chain mounted on the frame is engaged by the sprocket of each bin inserted in the frame. As a result of this construction the number of bins used may be decreased while the capacity of those bins used may be increased and such used bins may be loaded from the rear while the collator is in operation.

Abstract: A COLLATOR HAVING TRAYS SPACED ONE ABOVE THE OTHER IN A FRAME, PUSHER MEANS ASSOCIATED WITH EACH STATION ON THE TRAYS AND HAVING A COMMON DRIVE MEANS FOR CYCLICALLY PUSHING A SHEET FROM EACH STACK OF SHEETS AT EACH STATION TO A POSITION WHERE A USER CAN GATHER THE SHEETS WITH A CONTINUOUS HAND MOVEMENT, AND ACTUATING MEANS RESPONSIVE TO THE MOVEMENT OF THE SHEETS AS THEY ARE GATHERED, WHICH ACTUATING MEANS INITIATES THE DRIVE MEANS TO REPEAT THE FEED CYCLE SO THAT WHEN THE USER HAS FINISHED GATHERING AND STACKING THE SHEETS FROM THE COLLATOR A NEXT SET OF SHEETS ARE WAITING TO BE GATHERED.
