Abstract:
X-ray exposures may be reduced by using a film containing an integral X-ray intensifier screen composed of phosphorescent luminophors, and intensifying the latent image by actinic radiation emitted after the X-ray exposure has ceased. The thus exposed and intensified film is diffusion transfer processed to provide a silver transfer image.
Abstract:
Novel systems for preparing dye images utilizing novel elements including a dyeable stratum and a layer containing a colorproviding material which is nondiffusible but upon oxidation can release a diffusible color-providing moiety for transfer to the dyeable stratum to impart thereto a color transfer image.
Abstract:
Systems employing electrophotoluminescent panels to obtain reproductions of originals, which systems include the steps of exciting a layer of an electrophotoluminescent material optically and with an applied electric field to cause said material to emit visible light; eliminating said optical excitation while maintaining said electric field, whereby said material continues to emit visible light; and placing the subject matter to be reproduced in juxtaposition with said layer of material for a predetermined period of time sufficient to permit a significant imagewise differential in decay of luminescence of said material to form in said layer a positive reproduction of said subject matter, and, optionally may further include the steps of removing the electric field for a short period of time and then reapplying it whereby to obtain an image reversal wherein the positive image on the panel is converted into a negative image; and systems employing the same to obtain a photographic reproduction on a photosensitive element.
Abstract:
A diffusion transfer photographic product useful for obtaining positive X-ray images and readiation concentration measurements. Essentially, the product comprises a plurality of layers which include an intensifier-emulsion layer superposed above a reflecting layer integrated with a diffusion transfer capability for producing positive image patterns from the exposed intensifier-emulsion layer.
Abstract:
Novel systems for preparing a pair of negative images, utilizing film units including a layer of a light-sensitive silver halide, a color-providing material disposed in this layer or in an adjacent layer, which color-providing material is nondiffusible, but, upon oxidation, can release a diffusible color-providing moiety for transfer, said film unit further including a dyeable stratum separable from the aforementioned layer or layers.
