Abstract: The non-rising stem valve includes a hollow cartridge cage open at its top to receive a plug-like control member. A collar at the bottom of the cage projects eccentrically therefrom to accommodate a tubular seal member that forms both a static and dynamic seal. The valve body accommodates the cage and provides an accentric recess for the collar and seal member. The control member has a flat lower surface at which the plug passage opens for transit across the upper end of the seal member. The single seal member is inserted and removed with the cage as a unit, and is easily replaced. An internal groove in the seal member forms a lip for access of fluid under pressure to provide a supplemental sealing force.

Abstract: A mixing valve having a valve post wherein a pair of fluid supply channels terminate at respective laterally facing orifices. A flexible sealing flap overlies each orifice. A post encircling valve sleeve includes an interior cam surface which presses the sealing flaps against the orifices for selective blocking or opening thereof depending on the axial and angular position of the sleeve. Fluid emergent from the orifices flows through a mixing chamber between the post and sleeve to a return port in the post.

Abstract: The shutoff valve comprises a valve body having outwardly facing axially aligned cups each receiving a hollow valve cage upon which a sealing member is peripherally mounted. The sealing member forms an expansible pressure chamber communicating on the outside with an inlet, and on its inside with a spool fitted into the cage. The angular position of the spool determines either a sealed or an open position of the pressure chamber. The spools are connected together for movement in unison.

Abstract: This invention relates to a single-handled valve for controlling both combined volume and relative proportion of hot and cold water. A control valve stem extends through a moldable sleevelike sealing member, the sleeve-like sealing member cooperating with hot and cold water inlet openings. The axial and angular positions of the stem determine the combined volume and relative proportion while the sleeve-like sealing member performs all of the sealing functions between the inlet openings and the valve outlet.
