Abstract: A method and apparatus for converting low frequency current to high frequency current and for applying the high frequency current to the electrodes of a corona generator. The frequency converter includes a rectifier circuit, and a chopping circuit. The chopping circuit includes an SCR and a firing circuit connected to the SCR. The chopping circuit does not require a conventional shut-off circuit. The SCR is connected to an ozone generator through a transformer and automatically shuts off.
