Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a user device, a base station, and data transmission and reception methods to be performed by a user device and a base station in a communications system. The user device comprises circuitry which, in operation, receives paging occasion configuration from the base station, including at least one parameter for configuring a predefined time-domain pattern for receiving paging occasion within a paging cycle; and performs reception of paging signal in the paging occasions within the predefined time-domain pattern configured according to the received paging occasion configuration.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a communication device, a base station and respective methods for a communication device and a base station. The communication device comprises a transceiver which, in operation, receives, from a base station, a hopping pattern indicator, a hopping pattern being an order of a plurality of bandwidth parts by which a signal is to be received or transmitted in a plurality of transmission time intervals, TTIs, a bandwidth part being formed by at least one physical resource block. The communication device further comprises circuitry which, in operation, determines a hopping pattern to be applied based on the hopping pattern indicator. The transceiver, in operation, further receives or transmits the signal in the plurality of TTIs according to the determined hopping pattern.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a user equipment (UE) comprising a receiver for receiving a paging message from a base station. A processor determines at least one network slice to which the paging message pertains based on the received paging message. The disclosure further relates to a UE comprising a receiver for receiving information on a plurality of network slices. The information includes for each network slice a shortened network slice ID identifying the respective network slice and includes mapping information defining a mapping between the shortened network slice ID and a full network slice ID. A processor determines a network slice and the corresponding full network slice ID and further determines the corresponding shortened network slice ID based on the received mapping information. A transmitter transmits a data transmission preparation message to the base station that comprises the determined shortened network slice ID.
