Abstract: A display device with at least one hole is susceptible to poor image quality because of the luminance difference between the front of the hole and behind the hole in relation to the plurality of light sources located along one edge of the backlight unit. To decrease the luminance difference, the distance between adjacent light sources are adjusted, the light ray directions are altered and cutout sections are provided.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes: first and second liquid crystal cells; first and second circuit boards connected to the first and second liquid crystal cells through first and second flexible wiring boards, respectively; a frame disposed on an opposite side to the first liquid crystal cell with respect to the second liquid crystal cell; and a holder that holds the first circuit board and the second circuit board. The first circuit board and the second circuit board are disposed on an opposite side to the second liquid crystal cell with respect to the frame. The second circuit board is located closer to the frame than the first circuit board, and the holder sandwiches the first circuit board, and stores the second circuit board between the frame and the holder.

Abstract: A display device includes a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel, a rear frame, a light guide plate, and a light emitting diode (LED) substrate. The LED substrate includes a first substrate portion, a second substrate portion, a plurality of LEDs mounted to the first substrate portion, and a power connector mounted to the second substrate portion. The first substrate portion extends in a first direction along a first side of the light guide plate that faces the first sidewall of the rear frame. The second substrate portion extends in a second direction along a second side of the light guide plate that faces the second sidewall of the rear frame. A backlight unit for a display device includes a light guide plate and a LED substrate.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device is provided. The liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal cell including a liquid crystal layer interposed between a pair of transparent substrates; a backlight unit behind the liquid crystal cell; a polarizer on a surface of the liquid crystal cell, the surface opposing the backlight unit; a transparent reinforcement plate that is between the liquid crystal cell and the backlight unit and supports the polarizer; and an intermediate frame, which is a middle frame, including a protrusion protruding toward a space between the backlight unit and the transparent reinforcement plate. The transparent reinforcement plate rests on the protrusion of the intermediate frame.
