Abstract:
In a cellular radiotelephone system, the data base of a visitor location register is protected from saturation by releasing n-tuplets from the data base corresponding to those temporary mobile identity words corresponding to mobiles which announced their presence more than some predetermined time earlier, and by changing the predetermined time when the register nears saturation.
Abstract:
One aspect of the present invention is a method of managing quality of service in a mobile radio network in which protocols for communication over terrestrial interfaces comprise a radio network layer and a transport network layer and wherein quality of service management includes quality of service management linked to the radio network layer and quality of service management linked to the transport network layer, said method comprising: a step in which a first network element signals to a second network element by means of the radio network layer signaling protocol at least one parameter representative of transport quality of service or of quality of service for the transport network layer, and a step in which the second network element uses said at least one parameter for transport quality of service management.
Abstract:
A method for intersystem transfer of calls from a first cellular mobile radio system using the macrodiversity transmission technique to a second cellular mobile radio system, the macrodiversity transmission using a radio network controller of the first system, referred to as the serving controller, and at least one other radio network controller of the first system, referred to as the drift controller, wherein adjoining cell information relating to the second system is signaled to the serving controller by at least one drift controller controlling at least one serving cell belonging to the first system and having at least one adjoining cell belonging to the second system.
Abstract:
One of the objects of the invention is a method for improved handling of dynamic bandwidth changes in a transport network using inverse multiplexing such that at least one connection end-point of a connection does not correspond to an inverse multiplexing end-point, a method including a step wherein said at least one connection end-point is informed of said bandwidth change by at least one inverse multiplexing end-point aware of said bandwidth change.
