    摘要: The invention described relates generally to a method and apparatus for improving existing bulk wire transfer methodologies and more particularly, to welding wire packages for use as an endless wire container such that the welding wire of multiple containers can be linked together to produce an uninterrupted flow of welding wire to a welding operation by employing a welding wire transfer guide, the guide having an outwardly-facing curvilinear groove, one end of said groove of said welding wire transfer guide positioned along a tangent line running between an outer diameter of the in-process coil of wire and an opposed end of said groove along a tangent line running between an inner diameter of the staged coil of welding wire. The apparatus further includes a magnetically positionable wire guide arm above at least two, preferably each bulk welding wire container.

    摘要: A method and apparatus of welding along a pass line on a steel workpiece, which method and apparatus comprises simultaneously feeding two welding wires in generally parallel relationship toward a workpiece with extended welding wires generally intersecting the workpiece at individual points spaced from each other a distance in the range about 3/16 inch to about 3/8 inch; then creating a separate arc between each of the wires and the workpiece; passing a single protective envelope of shielding gas axially along two welding wires simultaneously and around said two separate arcs extending between welding wires and the workpiece; and, causing relative movement between the two gas shielded welding wires and the workpiece in the direction corresponding to the desired pass line on the workpiece.

    摘要: A weld wire for storage on a spool of weld wire. The weld wire has a substantially linear cast in the form of an undulating curve that generally lies in a single plane. The undulating curve is a succession of generally semi-circular sections having a generally fixed radius of curvature. The linear cast is formed on the weld wire prior to the weld wire being wound on the spool of weld wire. The linear cast is at least partially retained on the weld wire after the weld wire is unwound from the spool and during the feeding of the weld wire through a welding machine.
