摘要： A martensitic steel alloy has a unique combination of hardness and corrosion resistance. Broadly stated, the alloy contains, in weight percent, about______________________________________ C 1.40-1.75 Mn 0.30-1.0 Si 0.80 max. P 0.020 max. S 0.015 max. Cr 13.5-18.0 Ni 0.15-0.65 Mo 0.40-1.50 V 1.0 max. N 0.02-0.08 ______________________________________ and the balance essentially iron. The alloy is balanced within the stated weight percent ranges such that the ratio %Cr:%C is about 10.0-11.0 and the sum %Ni+%Mn is at least about 0.75. The alloy can be hardened to at least about 60 HRC from a wide range of solution treating temperatures and provides corrosion resistance that is similar to Type 440C alloy.

摘要： A method and apparatus for isolating a zone (12) of a wellbore (14) penetrated by a casing (16) and then opening ports (28) in the zone (12) for extraction or injection of fluids is provided. The zone (12) is isolated by inflating jackets (42) and then closing a safety valve (38) by sliding a sliding member (44) relative to a first conduit (46). The ports (28) are opened by sliding a piston (80) of a sliding sleeve valve (76) so that openings (84) therein align with the ports (28). The invention provides improved zone isolation and reduced wear of seals (86) in the sliding sleeve valve (76).
