Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for controlling a magnetic clamp on a machine tool having a machine slide driven by a feed motor in response to a motor power source. Current supplied to the feed motor by the motor power source is monitored by a magnetic coil control circuit. The coil control circuit is operative to regulate the supply of current to the magnetic clamp as a function of the current supplied to the feed motor. A machine slide control circuit is disclosed for inhibiting the motion of the machine slide as a function of the current supplied to the feed motor.
