摘要： The present invention relates to a hair styling appliance comprising a handle portion and a heating portion with a preferably dome-shaped heating zone for heating and styling hair, and a cooling portion with a cooling zone for cooling the hair thus styled, wherein the difference in temperature between the surface temperatures of the heating zone and the cooling zone amounts to at least 80 kelvin and, more particularly, 100 kelvin. The present invention also relates to a method of styling hair, especially using a hair styling appliance with the above-mentioned features.

摘要： Appliances for shaping hair are provided. The hair-shaping appliances may include, for example, (a) a forward and reverse stroke liquid dosing device; (b) a tubular drum constructed to contact the hair, the tubular drum having through-passages; and (c) an evaporating device comprising an evaporator chamber to which a liquid is delivered by the dosing device, the evaporating device being constructed to produce steam from the delivered liquid and to deliver the steam through the through-passages in the tubular drum to treat the hair. Excess liquid is removed from the evaporator chamber by a return stroke of the dosing device.

摘要： Steam styling tongs including an evaporating device which is supplied with heat by a heating device and comprises an evaporator surface in thermal contact with the heating device. Liquid evaporates on the evaporator surface into steam, which then passes into a steam-distributor chamber and, there, flows outward via through-passages. The heating device is formed in a combustion chamber of the drum, in which, during the heating operation, flame-free combustion of a gas takes place by means of a catalyst, of which the combustion gases pass out via outlets formed in the drum or in the combustion chamber. The combustion chamber and the steam-distributor chamber are formed by a common chamber. Means which prevent water from penetrating into the common chamber are also provided.

摘要： A catalytic gas combustion device for an appliance for personal use with a gas supply device and a catalyst connected to the gas supply device is disclosed. To ignite the gas/air mixture and therefore to initiate catalytic combustion at the catalyst, an ignition device which can be controlled by an ignition system is provided. The gas supply device has a bypass for branching off part of a gas stream which flows onto the ignition device. In this way, the ignition system is actuated even shortly after the gas valve device is opened, and the catalyst is brought to its operating temperature as a result of the explosion of the gas/air mixture.

The bristles (1) include at least two sections (9, 11) with cross-sectional areas of different sizes. A section with an increased cross-sectional area (11) adjoins the bristle base (3) having a reduced cross-sectional area, so that the bristle (1) is provided with a neck portion (17) between the bristle supporting structure (7) and the section with the increased cross-sectional area (11).
