摘要: The present invention relates to methods for controlling the migration of unconsolidated particulates in a portion of a subterranean formation, and more particularly, to the using a pressure pulse to enhance the effectiveness of placement of a consolidation fluid in a portion of a subterranean formation. Some methods of the present invention provide methods of treating a subterranean formation comprising injecting a consolidation fluid into the subterranean formation while periodically applying a pressure pulse having a given amplitude and frequency to the consolidation fluid.

摘要: Methods of forming permeable sand screens in long, open hole well bores within fluid producing zones are provided. The methods basically comprise the steps of placing a perforated pipe in the open hole well bore, providing a hardenable composition which after being placed in a desired location cures into a hard mass, placing the hardenable composition in the well bore adjacent to the fluid producing zone within the interior of the perforated pipe therein, between the perforated pipe and the walls of the open hole well bore and within voids or fractures in the producing zone, causing the hardenable composition to cure into a hard permeable mass and drilling the hard permeable mass out of the interior of the perforated pipe.

摘要: Improved methods and apparatus for completing an unconsolidated subterranean zone penetrated by a well bore are provided. The methods basically comprise the steps of placing a slotted liner having an internal sand screen disposed therein in the zone, isolating the slotted liner and the well bore in the zone and injecting particulate material into the annuli between the sand screen and the slotted liner and the slotted liner and the well bore to thereby form packs of particulate material therein to prevent the migration of fines and sand with produced fluids.

摘要: Methods including the steps of providing an injection well having unconsolidated particulates in one or more formation intervals along the wellbore that accept injection fluid; providing a consolidating treatment fluid comprising a base fluid and a consolidating agent; introducing the consolidating treatment fluid through the injection well, while the well is under injection, such that the consolidating treatment fluid enters into a portion of a formation interval along the wellbore that accepts injection fluid; and, allowing the consolidating fluid to consolidate formation particulates therein. The methods may be performed such that the percentage of consolidating agent varies over the course of the treatment or the rate of injection varies over the course of the treatment.
