Abstract: Methods and devices are disclosed for enabling improved service acquisition on at least one SIM of a wireless communication device. After a first SIM has lost service, the wireless communication device may identify, in a first radio access technology (RAT) priority list configured to support the first SIM, a highest ranked radio access technology. The wireless communication device may search a local wireless environment for networks associated with the identified radio access technology, and determine whether any network associated with the identified radio access technology is available, Upon determining that the no network associated with the identified radio access technology is available, the wireless communication device may update the RAT priority list associated with the first SIM.
