Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for periodic, frequency domain dependent block error rate (BLER) detection and correction. An example method, performed at a first wireless node, generally includes identifying differences in BLER for different resources used for transmissions between the first wireless node and a second wireless node, and performing one or more actions to mitigate an impact of the identified differences in BLER on subsequent transmissions between the first wireless node and a second wireless node.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may perform a random access procedure to establish a connection with a first cell. The UE may measure, based on performing the random access procedure, a first reference signal received power of a first reference signal received from a first cell and measure a second reference signal received power for a second reference signal received from a second cell. The UE may calculate a transmission power for a random access preamble. The UE may trigger a radio link failure mode for the first cell based at least in part on the first reference signal received power being less than a first reference signal received power threshold, the second reference signal received power being greater than the first reference signal received power threshold, and the transmission power being greater than a transmission power threshold.
