Abstract:
The present invention relates to new lightly colored prills of hydroquinone. More particularly, the invention provides a new method for preparing said lightly colored prills of hydroquinone. The invention also relates to said prills of hydroquinone obtained by said new method.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a novel solid form of diphenol compound. A process for the preparation of diphenol prills having a spherical shape is disclosed. Said process comprising providing a molten composition comprising from 50 to 100 wt. % of a diphenol compound or a mixture of at least two diphenol compounds, and less than 0.1 wt. % of water; forcing said molten composition through at least one droplet generator means to form droplets; and cooling said droplets to form solid diphenol prills. The diphenol prills obtainable by said process are also one subject-matter of the invention.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of at least two phenol derivatives jointly with at least one ancillary polymerization inhibitor which is different from these two phenol derivatives and particularly is selected from phenol derivatives, amine derivatives, thiazine derivatives, nitroso compounds, N-oxyl derivatives, metal salts, quinone derivatives, and mixtures thereof, to inhibit the polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers comprising at least one heteroatom, it being also possible for a dispersant to be incorporated. The present invention also relates to a corresponding polymerization-inhibiting composition and to the corresponding process for preparing ethylenically unsaturated monomers comprising at least one heteroatom, and particularly acrylic monomers.
Abstract:
A process for unloading a container containing an oxidizable compound having a melting point Tm greater than 15° C. is described. This process comprises the steps consisting in heating the container using a heating means until the oxidizable compound is liquid, the temperature of the heating means remaining less than or equal to Tm+105° C., and then unloading the oxidizable compound in the liquid state. A process for handling such an oxidizable compound, comprising this unloading step, and also a device enabling this process to be carried out, are also proposed.
Abstract:
The invention describes a composition that inhibits the polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, including at least 98% by weight of 4-tert-butylcatechol (4-TBC), 0.03% to 0.2% by weight of catechol (PC), and at least one impurity selected among 3-tert-butylcatechol, tert-butylhydroquinone, 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechol and mixture thereof, the total quantity of said impurities and of the PC being 0.1% to 0.8% by weight of said composition. The invention also describes a method for removing in said polymerization-inhibiting composition present in a mixture including at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer.
