Abstract: A resin composition that is useful in the preparation of protective coatings. The resin composition comprises a polyfunctional cyanate ester, a phenol-end-modified PDMS oligomer, and an imidazolium dicyanamide catalyst. The method of preparing a resin blend by mixing a polyfunctional cyanate ester, a phenol-end-modified PDMS oligomer and an imidazolium dicyanamide catalyst to form a resin composition and curing the resin composition to form the resin blend.
