Abstract: A gearbox assembly comprising: a gearbox having a plurality of gears, an air turbine starter, and a transfer shaft. The transfer shaft has a first end portion engaged with a gear of the gearbox and an opposing second end portion configured for operative connection with a core shaft of the turbine engine. The air turbine starter is operatively engaged with the transfer shaft between the first and second end portions so as to be rotatable by the air turbine starter.
