    摘要: A pin assembly for securing large earth excavation teeth on the nose portions of their mounting adaptors attached to the shovel for excavating bucket of the excavating equipment. The pin assembly is comprised of an elongated steel bearing pin and a compressible flexpin adapted for mating engagement with and between the adaptor and the bearing pin. The bearing pin defines a convex bearing surface on the rearward side thereof for engaging portions of the excavation tooth and a concave bearing surface in the forward side thereof for mating engagement with a convex bearing surface defined by the rearward side of the flexpin. The flexpin further defines a convex bearing surface on the forward side thereof adapted to abut the channel wall of the mounting adaptor through which the pin extends and additionally defines a rearward projection on the rearwardly disposed convex bearing surface which extends into a recessed area formed in a central portion of the concave bearing surface on the bearing pin and thereby interlocks the flexpin to the bearing pin to prevent separation thereof during use. Rearwardly offset portions on the forward surface of the flexpin and rearward surface of the bearing pin define interlocking shoulders for engaging the pins with portions of the tooth and adaptor to secure the pin assembly therebetween and provide a tight securement of the excavation tooth on the adaptor.

    摘要: An attachment assembly for securing ripper teeth to an earth excavation device which comprises a substantially "J"-shaped ripper shank defining a lower forwardly projecting tapered end portion for carrying the tooth, an upper end portion for attachment to the excavation device and a front end wall defining a forwardly projecting elongated securement rib. An elongated wear cap extends over the lower portion of the front end wall of the shank and defines a tapered front digging surface, a lower tapered end portion which merges into the forwardly projecting tapered end portions of the shank and with said portion extends into a cavity in the base of the ripper tooth. The rear surface of the wear cap defines an open channel therein adapted to receive the securement rib on the front end wall of the shank upon the wear cap being transversely slided thereover. A substantially U-shaped securement member is secured to the upper portion of the wear cap and extends about the upper portion of the wear cap and oppositely disposed portions of the side walls of the shank so as to prevent any relative lateral movement between the wear cap and shank.

    摘要: A locking mechanism for releasably securing earth excavation teeth on a trenching machine. The assembly includes a nose piece carried by the bucket of the earth excavation equipment, a digging point which fits about and is carried by the nose piece and a compressible locking assembly having a steel projecting portion. The locking assembly is disposed in a chamber in the lower surface of the nose piece with the projecting portion extending therefrom and into an aperture extending through the lower surface of the point and communicating with the chamber in the nose piece. To remove the point from the nose piece, a tool is provided which engages the point and the projecting portion of the locking assembly such that upon forcing the tool against the projecting portion of the locking assembly, the locking assembly is compressed and the projecting portion thereof is urged downwardly in the chamber while the point is driven forwardly thereover and off the nose piece.

    摘要: A scarifier tooth assembly of the type used on earth excavation equipment for digging furrows in the ground which comprises a replacement point and a clamp member for securing the point to a conventional tapered and grooved shank carried by the bucket of the earth excavating equipment. The point is of a forged integral construction and includes a tapered forward digging portion and a shaft portion extending rearwardly therefrom. The shaft portion defines a flat lower bearing surface adapted to abut a flat bearing surface on the shank and a curvilinear upper bearing surface adapted to abut an interior curvilinear bearing surface of the clamp member. Ear members project laterally from the rearward most end of the shaft portion of the point and fit about the shank for preventing relative lateral movement between the point and shank. The clamp member is generally of an inverted "U"-shaped configuration and defines an inner curvilinear bearing surface and inwardly projecting lateral flanges at the open end thereof. Upon slighting the clamp over the point and shank, the projecting flanges fit within the locking grooves in the shank while the curvilinear bearing surface presses against the upper mating bearing surface on the shaft portion of the point, wedging and securing the point tightly between the clamp and shank.

    摘要: An attachment assembly for securing an excavation tooth in a row of closely spaced teeth on large earth excavating equipment. The assembly includes a nose piece, an excavation tooth and a securement pin. The nose piece has a base portion which is secured in a conventional manner to the shovel or dipper bucket of the excavation equipment, and a tapered extension for carrying the tooth. The tapered extension of the nose piece defines a recessed flat horizontal surface at the extended end thereof inwardly spaced from the lateral sides of the nose piece to define a horizontal stabilizing surface bordered by a vertical stabilizing wall. The tooth has a channel therein corresponding in configuration to the tapered extension of the nose piece so that the nose piece can fit thereover in a mating relationship. The securement pin which is comprised of two elongate members joined by a hard, resilient rubber center, extends vertically through the tapered extension of the nose piece and the excavation tooth to secure the tooth on the nose pin. The mating relationship of the channel walls in the tooth with the vertical stabilizing wall and recessed horizontal stabilizing surface on the nose piece provides both lateral and vertical stability for the tooth without the need for additional horizontal locking pins.
