摘要: A mounting system (10) and method for adjusting the position of a PCB (14) in a housing (22) therefor is provided. An annular, stepped mounting member (16) having axially and radially spaced surface portions (19) provides predetermined positions for the PCB (14) in the housing (22) based on the size of a mounting opening (20) of the PCB (14). The PCB (14) is placed onto the mounting member (16) with those surface portions (19) that are of smaller diameter than the opening (20) fitting therethrough until the first portion (19) having a larger diameter is encountered which will be engaged against the PCB (14). In this manner, the present system (10) allows for a relatively quick and easy change to the size of the PCB mounting hole opening (20) to be made to effect a change in the PCB vertical position in the housing (22) thereby avoiding expensive and time-consuming changes that are usually required when the position of the PCB (14) needs to be changed to accommodate component reconfigurations and the like.

摘要: A radio device such as a radio modem having a radio shielding receptacle (10) with a base (16) and first and second sides (40, 42) and having side walls (14). A first circuit board (e.g. radio frequency circuit board 20) is mounted in the receptacle between the side walls, extending across the first side of the base. A second circuit board (e.g. logic circuit board 22) is mounted across the second side of the base such that the base of the receptacle separates the first and second circuit boards. A radio shielding housing (top assembly cover 26and bottom cover 38) surrounds the receptacle and the first and second circuit boards. In an aspect of the invention the device is dimensioned to conform to a Personal Computer Memory Card International Association standard and has an antenna connection (76). An elongate recess (74) extends between the two sides of the housing and the antenna connection is mounted within the recess.

摘要: An active stylus writing apparatus for writing on a touch-sensitive interface and paper; including a conductive carrier coupled on a first end of the active stylus writing apparatus, and also coupled to internal circuitry for providing an active electrically charged capacitive field to inject a sufficient capacitive charge for writing upon the touch-sensitive interface. Additionally, the active stylus may include a removable compound end cap, typically comprised of at least two segments, the removable compound end cap configured to electrically couple to the conductive carrier when covering the conductive carrier on the first end of the active stylus writing apparatus, wherein the compound end cap is conductive in at least one segment and non-conductive in another segment.

摘要: The invention provides a chassis for housing printed circuit boards comprising: a housing having a top, bottom, front, back, left and right side walls, and having a height, measured from the bottom wall to the top wall, that is equal to a 1 rack-unit. The front wall includes an inlet vent, a display module, and a jack and the back side wall includes an exhaust vent. A front wall face plate overlies the inlet vent, display module and jack, with the inlet vent arranged in parallel, overlapping but offset planes. A centrifugal blower is provided inside the chassis housing.

摘要: The apparatus permits non-disruptive addition and removal of PCMCIA modules from a host device. The host device includes a signal bus connected to mating pins of the card header. The card header has a three-sided frame into which a module is inserted. A switch disposed on an edge of the header is responsive to insertion and de-insertion of the module. The length of the mating pins vary where selected mating pins of the card header have a first length for detecting substantially complete insertion and partial de-insertion of the module, and pins of a second length for applying bus signals to the module. Pins of a third length facilitate applying electrical power to the module. The computer is responsive to the switch and the mating pins such that the signal bus is deactivated to prevent corruption of the bus signals when the switch detects insertion of the module. The signal bus remains deactivated until the module is in communication with pins of a first length, whereupon the signal bus is then reactivated. This prevents electrical transients from reaching the bus. Additionally, the signal bus is deactivated upon partial de-insertion of the module when the module is no longer in communication with pins of first length. The signal bus remains deactivated until the switch detects complete de-insertion of the module, whereupon the signal bus is then reactivated.
