摘要： The tank and baffle system comprises a tank for transporting liquids, having a plurality of baffles for controlling surges and excess liquid movement produced by movement of the tank. The present invention is particularly useful where there is a large ratio of tank width to tank support and lateral bending loads may be in excess of longitudinal bending. The baffles are rigidly secured to a tunnel structure that spans longitudinally from the front to the rear of the tank, and forms a continuous structure in both longitudinal and transverse directions. A further aspect of the invention is the use of chamfered corners on the baffle plates to provide fluid communication between chambers of the tank, as well as to reduce surging of the liquid contents and reduce or eliminate joint fatigue. Access ports in the baffles that are covered by access covers during use are another aspect of the invention.

摘要： A compound angle limiting device is disclosed herein. The invention provides for control of the angular excursion of a pivotal mass within first and second angles about first and second axes without the necessity for external stops. The invention includes a first coupling mechanism for sensing movement of the mass about the first axis, a second coupling mechanism for sensing movement of the mass about the second axis; a first cam coupled to the mass via the first coupling mechanism and movable in response thereto; and a second cam coupled to the mass via the second coupling mechanism and movable in response thereto. The first and second cams are mounted for physical contact at at least one point to limit the compound angular excursion of the mass via the first and second coupling mechanisms.

摘要： A displacement actuated side dumping haul body and related methods are disclosed. The side dumping haul body may, for example, be mounted to a trailer or truck frame. The side dumping haul body includes a floor with fore and aft end walls rigidly attached to the floor, at least one actuator and first and second sidewalls. When the at least one actuator is employed to pivot the floor to dump material from the haul body, the corresponding sidewall pivots at least generally away from the floor to create a side discharge opening. Various opening parameters and dumping characteristics can be achieved by varying locations of pivot and linkage points.
