摘要: A vehicle braking system that eases assembly of a plurality of rotational friction plates and a plurality of fixed friction plates to a system body. The braking system can include a plurality of rotational friction plates and a plurality of fixed friction plates assembled on a periphery of an annular member such that each of the fixed friction plates is positioned between a pair of the rotational friction plates. A retaining member, such as a circlip, is engaged with each end of the annular member for preventing the rotational friction plates and the fixed friction plates from becoming disengaged with the annular member by axial movement. In addition, outer fixed friction plates can be positioned on each end of the collection of rotational friction plates and fixed friction plates. Pins can be extended through the outer fixed friction plates and retaining members, such as circlips are provided on respective ends of the pins to permit limited relative movement of the outer friction plates relative to one another in the axial direction.

摘要: A vehicle braking system that includes an interior space for accommodating a plurality of rotational friction plates and a plurality of fixed friction plates. The interior spaced is formed by a brake housing and a wheel hub, and lubrication oil for lubricating the plurality of rotational friction plates and the plurality of fixed friction plates is contained within the interior space. The brake housing includes a projection, or projection portion, which projects closer to center of an axle, along a longitudinal axis of the axle, than innermost surfaces of the rear wheels. In one arrangement, the projecting portion is located below the axle. In addition, one or more cooling fins can be provided on a surface of the projecting portion. Furthermore, in some arrangements, a space within the projecting portion projects closer to center of an axle, along a longitudinal axis of the axle, than innermost surfaces of the rear wheels.

摘要: A small-sized vehicle, such as an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle), includes an engine having an output shaft, a front gear mechanism including a first shaft on a side of a front wheel to which a drive force from a front output shaft portion of the output shaft is transmitted, and a rear gear mechanism including a first shaft on a side of a rear wheel to which a drive force from a rear output shaft portion of the output shaft is transmitted. The front output shaft portion of the output shaft and the first shaft of the front gear mechanism are arranged substantially coaxial with each other, and the rear output shaft portion of the output shaft and the first shaft of the rear gear mechanism are arranged substantially coaxial with each other. The small-sized vehicle is capable of preventing vibrations and noise from being generated.

摘要: An engine brake for a vehicle having a frame rollably supported by at least one wheel, an engine supported by the frame and having an output shaft, the output shaft arranged to drive at least one wheel supporting the vehicle through a transmission, is disclosed. The transmission has a drive pulley driven by the output shaft and a driven pulley driven by the drive pulley. The drive pulley comprises a fixed sheave and a moveable sheave moveable relative to the fixed sheave. The moveable sheave in a first position relative to the fixed sheave causes the drive pulley to drive the driven pulley in a high speed position and the moveable sheave in a second position relative to the fixed sheave causing the drive pulley to drive the driven pulley in a low speed position. The engine brake comprises an air chamber defined in part by the moveable sheave and a vacuum apparatus removing air from the chamber and moving the moveable sheave to its second position when a speed of the engine is reduced.
