Abstract: The immersion responsive sensor of an automatically inflatable life jacket comprises concentric inner and outer tubular electrodes, the outer one having water access apertures at zones spaced axially from the ends of the inner one. The outer one comprises part of a housing that encloses a battery. Seal means extend across the outer electrode in axially spaced relation to the inner one and have frustoconical inner surfaces that drain water toward the apertures.
