    Abstract: A method of fabricating a fiber structure by multilayer three-dimensional weaving between a plurality of weft yarns and of warp yarns, the fiber structure having at least first and second portions that are adjacent in the warp direction, the first portion presenting, in a direction perpendicular to the warp and weft directions, a thickness greater than the thickness of the second portion, includes making the first portion using a step of three-dimensionally weaving warp and weft layers in which a fiber fabric is formed in the form of a Mock-Leno weave grid in a core of the first portion together with skins at a surface of the first portion, a weave of the skins being modified locally so as to deflect certain warp yarns from said skins and weave them with the fiber fabric in the form of the Mock-Leno weave grid.

    Abstract: A fiber structure includes a plurality of weft layers and of warp layers interlinked by multilayer three-dimensional weaving, the fiber structure having at least first and second portions that are adjacent in the warp direction, the first portion presenting, in a direction perpendicular to the warp and weft directions, a thickness that is greater than the thickness of the second portion, wherein the first portion has at its core at least one fiber fabric obtained by three-dimensional weaving of warp yarns and weft yarns in the form of a Mock Leno weave grid, the at least one fabric being present between two skins present at the surface of the first portion and being linked to the skins by warp yarns belonging to the skins that are locally deflected into the fabric.

    Abstract: A manufacturing process of a fibrous preform for a composite material includes creating a fibrous texture by three-dimensional or multilayer weaving between a plurality of weft layers and warp layers, the fibrous texture including an extra-thick portion having a sacrificial portion and a useful portion adjacent to the sacrificial portion in the warp direction, the sacrificial portion, placing the fibrous texture in a forming toolset, shaping the fibrous texture so as to obtain a fibrous preform having a sacrificial portion and an adjacent useful portion, removing the sacrificial portion from the fibrous preform. When weaving the fibrous blank, one or more expansion elements are inserted into the weft layers located at the core of the sacrificial portion of the fibrous texture. Each expansion element has a cross-section greater than the cross-section or count of the weft threads or strands present in the useful portion.

    Abstract: A method of fabricating a composite material part including fiber reinforcement and a ceramic matrix present in the pores of the fiber reinforcement, the method including a) forming the fiber reinforcement by three-dimensionally weaving ceramic yarns, the fiber reinforcement as formed in this way presenting an interlock weave; b) forming a first ceramic matrix phase in the pores of the fiber reinforcement; c) after performing step b), introducing into the pores of the fiber reinforcement a powder that includes a mixture of SiC particles and of carbon particles; and d) infiltrating the fiber reinforcement obtained after performing step c), with an infiltration composition in the molten state including at least silicon so as to form a second ceramic matrix phase in the pores of the fiber reinforcement, thereby obtaining the composite material part.
