Abstract:
An electronic device may include a processor, a first volatile memory, and a storage including a nonvolatile memory and a second volatile memory. The processor may be configured to: identify information of a specific file and a kind of a request for data included in the specific file in response to a creation of the request for the data, set a flag in the request based on the identified information of the specific file, identify whether mapping information of a specific region including a logical address of the data among mapping information in which logical addresses and physical addresses for the nonvolatile memory are mapped onto each other is stored in the first volatile memory, determine whether to manage the mapping information of the specific region using the first volatile memory, and determine whether to update the mapping information of the specific region in the first volatile memory.
Abstract:
An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention comprises a host device and a block device electrically connected to the host device, wherein the block device comprises a first memory and a controller electrically connected to the first memory, and the controller receives a write request for first data form the host device, determines whether the first data is pattern data configured in a form in which an assigned number of bit values are repeated, and, in response to the first data being determined to be the pattern data, controls the first memory to store the assigned number of bit values of the first data in a logical to physical mapping table after mapping the assigned number of bit values to a logical address indicated by the write request.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for reducing current consumption by employing a memory refresh operation is provided. The method employs a refresh operation in an apparatus including a memory in which a partial refresh operation is performed. The method includes classifying data loaded in the memory into first data and second data, dividing the memory into a first area and a second area when an attempt to access the first data is not detected during a preset time, separately arranging the first data and the second data in the first area and the second area, respectively, performing a refresh operation in the second area at a preset time in order to retain data, and loading the first data into the memory when the attempt to access the first data is detected.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, an electronic device may include a display, a memory including a first space storing no data and a second space storing data, and a processor. The processor may be configured to control the electronic device to: receive an input for inputting a setting value for a fast data storage mode of the memory, to allocate a predetermined size of a free space of a file system of the electronic device as a temporary memory space for the fast data storage mode based on the setting value for the fast data storage mode, to control the memory to allocate a predetermined size of the first space as a borrowed space for the fast data storage mode corresponding to the size of the temporary memory space, to recognize occurrence of an event for starting data storage through the fast data storage mode, and to control the memory to perform the data storage using the borrowed space through the fast data storage mode in response to the occurrence of the event.
