Abstract: An electronic device is disclosed. An electronic device of the present disclosure comprises a memory, a display, and a processor for: when a user is identified while the display is operating in a standby mode that is a deactivated state, preloading at least one content providing source on the basis of a use history of the identified user, which is stored in the memory; and when a control command for switching the mode of the electronic device to a content reproduction mode is input, activating the display, and controlling the display to display a screen of a content providing source corresponding to the control command from among the at least one content providing source.
