Abstract: An apparatus for measuring blood pressure, and a method for measuring blood pressure by using the same are disclosed. The disclosed method for measuring blood pressure comprises the steps of: calculating pulse wave transit time; measuring vascular compliance; and measuring systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure by using the pulse wave transit time and the vascular compliance, wherein the vascular compliance can be measured respectively in at least two or more different hand shape poses.

Abstract: An oxygen saturation measuring apparatus is provided. The oxygen saturation measuring apparatus includes a sensor configured to detect motion of the oxygen saturation measuring apparatus, a light emitter comprising light emitting circuitry configured to emit light to a target subject, a light receiver comprising light receiving circuitry configured to receive one or more of light reflected by the target subject or light transmitted through the target subject to generate a signal, and a processor configured to filter a frequency component corresponding to the detected motion in the signal, to detect a pulse frequency from the filtered signal, and to determine oxygen saturation of the target subject using the filtered signal and the detected pulse frequency.

Abstract: A device includes a first sensor to generate a movement signal of a user movement; a second sensor to generate a PPG signal of the user; and a processor configured to set each of time periods as a predetermined amount of time to determine one sleeping state of the user, set a first part of the predetermined amount of time in each time period to emit the light, and set a remaining part of the predetermined amount of time in each time period to not emit the light, control the light emitter of the second sensor to emit the light in the first part of each time period and to not emit the light in the remaining part of each time period, and determine, for each time period, the sleeping state of the user based on the movement signal and the PPG signal that are generated for each time period.
