Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for displaying a three-dimensional (3D) image. A 3D display apparatus includes an optical layer including a plurality of optical elements, a projector configured to scan a light onto the optical layer, and a processor configured to control a timing at which the projector scans the light onto the optical layer and generate a 3D image in a viewing space based on the timing at which the light is scanned onto the optical layer.
