Abstract: An apparatus and method for grouping application program folders in an electronic device is provided. A first folder grouping type is initially determined. Application programs are grouped within at least one first application program folder according to the first folder grouping type, and the at least one first folder is displayed. In response to the detection of a folder type change event, a second folder grouping type is determined. Application programs are grouped and displayed within at least one second folder according to the second folder grouping type.
