Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5th generation (5G) or 6th generation (6G) communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system is provided. The method may comprises receiving, from a base station, a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel (SS/PBCH) block on a PBCH, identifying a frequency band on which the SS/PBCH block is received, in case that the frequency band is a first frequency band, determining configuration information for a control resource set (CORESET) for a Type0 physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) search space set based on a minimum channel bandwidth of the first frequency band, and in case that the frequency band is a second frequency band including a n79 frequency band, determining the configuration information for the CORESET corresponding to the n79 frequency band.
