Abstract: An identifier generation system includes a certification server that generates a certificate, and an electronic device that receives the certificate from the certification server. The electronic device includes a read-only memory (ROM) that applies a secret value and a 0-th layer identifier to a message authentication code to generate a unique identifier, a boot loader layer that generates asymmetric keys and generates an asymmetric key certificate corresponding to the asymmetric keys, and a firmware layer that stores the asymmetric key certificate and transmits and receives the asymmetric keys. The asymmetric keys generated by the boot loader layer include one or more unique asymmetric keys that are immutable when the electronic device is updated, and one or more variable asymmetric keys that vary when the electronic device is updated.
