Abstract: Implementations include providing, by a computer-executed migration advisor executing within a run-time of a source database system, a query data set including queries processed by the source database system during production use of the source database system, providing, by the migration advisor, an object data set including data representative of database objects stored within a database of the source database system, generating, by the migration advisor, a list of query-level features and a list of object-level features, each feature in the list of query-level features and each feature in the list of object-level features including a feature that is deprecated in a target database system, resolving one or more issues represented by features of one or more of the list of query-level features and the list of object-level features, and executing migration of the database of the source database system to the database of the target database system.

Abstract: A physio-logical migration of a database from a source system to a target system may include exporting a catalog of the database in a data interchange format that preserves the hierarchical dependencies present amongst the entities included in the catalog. The physio-logical migration of the database may further include exporting the contents of a table in the database in a binary format compatible at the target system. The binary format may be a data buffer having a metadata portion, a fixed-size portion, and a page chain portion. Where the target system is a cloud-based system, the physio-logical migration of the database may include exporting the catalog and the contents of the table to a cloud-based object store before importing the catalog and the contents of the table to the target system. Related systems and articles of manufacture, including computer program products, are also provided.

Abstract: The present disclosure involves systems, software, and computer implemented methods for performing dynamic topology switch in a failover operation. In one example, a failover of a first node is determined. The first node includes a first data server and a first replication server. At least one user application connects to the first data server prior to the failover of the first node. In response to the determined failover, the at least one user application is connected to a second data server of a second node. The second node includes the second data server and a second replication server. Prior to the failover of the first node, a data replication topology of the second node is a remote topology. During the failover, if the first replication server on the first node is down, the data replication topology of the second node is switched from the remote topology to a local topology.

Abstract: Systems and methods include reception of an instruction to recover a first database tenant of a first database instance to a first point in time, the first database tenant associated with first database artifacts of the first database instance, and the first database instance including two or more database tenants and, in response to the instruction, creation of a second database instance, selection of backup data of the first database instance based on the first point in time, execution of a recovery of the backup data on the second database instance, export of second database artifacts of the first database tenant from the second database instance to a storage, truncation of the first database artifacts from the first database instance, import of the second database artifacts from the storage to the first database instance, and deletion of the second database instance.

Abstract: Technologies are described for migrating deployment infrastructure containers. Deployment infrastructure containers are used for isolating and deploying related database objects together. Deployment infrastructure containers can store design-time artifacts and run-time artifacts. Deployment infrastructure containers can be migrated using a first migration technique in which catalog objects are migrated from a source database system to a target database system and updated to work in the target database system (e.g., by updating metadata). Deployment infrastructure containers can also be migrated using a second migration technique that migrates design-time artifacts and builds the design-time artifacts at the target database system to re-create the run-time artifacts. Migrated deployment infrastructure containers can be integrated into the target environment, which can include creating new service instances and associating them with the migrated deployment infrastructure containers.
