摘要: A clamping device includes a first clamping segment which has a first mounting flange and a tubular member extending axially away therefrom. A first bore extends through the first mounting flange and the tubular member. The first mounting flange is configured for attachment to a rotatable spindle of a machine tool. The clamping device includes a draw bar assembly which has an axially extending elongate shaft. The elongate shaft extends through the first bore of the first clamping segment. A biasing unit is mounted on or in the tubular member. A locking member is removably secured to the elongate shaft such that the biasing unit is compressed between the locking member and a portion of the first clamping segment. The biasing member remains compressed when the first clamping segment is separated from the spindle of the machine tool.

摘要: A device for clamping a collet in a machine tool having a rotatable spindle and a spindle nose thereon includes a mounting portion fastenable to the spindle and a clamping portion extending from the mounting portion. A bore is defined through the clamping portion and the mounting portion. At least one moveable ring is located within a portion of the bore defined by the clamping portion, the moveable ring being configured to receive the collet or any other appropriate clamping tool. At least one screw is mounted in the clamping portion and can be tightened against the moveable ring. The collet or clamping tool is attachable to the spindle nose of the machine tool and is drawn into the bore of the clamping portion. A method of clamping a collet includes providing the clamping device, attaching the device to the machine tool, inserting the collet into the clamping device, and attaching the collet to the spindle nose.

摘要: An expandable arbor for mounting a tool or work piece to a machine tool includes a mounting portion including a tubular section having conical exterior surface flaring outwardly towards a substantially closed end thereof. The arbor includes an opposing end having a plug removably disposed therein. The closed end has a finger extending axially therefrom. The mounting portion is configured to be rotatably coupled to a machine tool spindle and defines a keyway configured on a portion of an outer surface thereof. The arbor includes a clamping portion comprising an expandable sleeve slidably positioned over the finger. The finger is axially movable relative to and within the expandable sleeve. A nut is positioned over a portion of the expandable sleeve for axially retaining the expandable sleeve relative to the machine tool and allowing radial movement of the expandable sleeve. The finger is axially movable within the expandable sleeve between a clamped position and an unclamped position upon application and removal of a force to the conical exterior surface. In the clamped position, the expandable sleeve is radially expanded relative to the unclamped position.
