摘要： A collet for a power tool such as a router which has a lockable armature shaft, the lower end of which is externally threaded and internally bored so that it may be fitted with an interconnected nut and split sleeve combination. The split sleeve fits within the internal bore of the shaft whereby on turning of the nut in one direction the sleeve will be compressed to lock the shank of a bit within its central aperture. To remove the bit the nut is turned in the opposite direction to jack the sleeve away from the shaft.

摘要： A chuck device for sabre saws in which said device includes a chuck block having an aperture with a tapered portion therein, fixedly connected to the outer end of the saw bar which also has a tapered portion that terminates in an end portion of reduced diameter. Connecting means clamp the chuck block on the saw bar to lock the respective tapered portions against each other and prevent turning of the chuck block relative to the saw bar. The saw blade is clamped upon the chuck block in an offset position from the axis of the saw bar.

摘要： A remote mechanical switch for actuating a power tool, such as a router, wherein the mechanical switch is mounted in a control handle connected to the housing of the router. A shielded rod is connected between the housing and the control handle to engage the actuator of a microswitch that is electrically connected to operate the electric motor of the router. The rod places the microswitch in a normally off position. A trigger control is mounted in the control handle and connected to the rod, so that on operation thereof, the rod will be moved away from engagement with the microswitch to cause the same to be actuated.

摘要： A power-driven chain saw having a lubricating pump for the saw chain and/or guide bar. A pump housing has a pump chamber and lubricating fluid inlet and outlet passages communicating therewith and a plunger reciprocable therein. A wobble ring having planetary elements positioned therewithin is connected operably with the plunger, said wobble ring being movable so as to cause reciprocation of said plunger. A sun element is operably connected to the drive for the saw chain and the pair of planetary elements are driven by the sun element around same and within the wobble ring. A difference in the diameter between the planetary elements results in vertical movement of the wobble ring to cause reciprocation of the plunger.

摘要： A concentric assembly for a portable electric router having a base formed with a cylindrical sleeve terminating in a bottom flange for work engaging. A cylindrical motor housing is axially adjustably disposed within the sleeve. A motor is mounted within the motor housing and has an armature shaft centrally journaled therein. An arcuate pad is formed internally on one side of the sleeve with the arc of its surface set off from a radius substantially equal to the radius measured from the axis of the armature shaft to the outer periphery of the motor housing. A clamping means is connected through the sleeve on the side opposite the pad to force the motor housing against the pad to lock the same in adjusted axial position and to place the motor housing in concentric position. When the clamp is loosened, a rack and pinion mechanism connected between the motor housing and the sleeve can be used to axially position the motor housing to adjust the depth of cut of the router.

摘要： A sabre saw is provided with means for driving the saw bar in a linear reciprocatory motion from a rotary electric motor, while at the same time, permitting the saw bar to be manually rotated or selectively locked in position about its own axis to set the cutting edge of the saw blade in different angularly oblique positions relative to the line of movement of the tool. A control knob is journaled to rotate within the housing, at the top of the front end thereof. The control knob is coupled to the saw bar by means of an internally slotted saw bar bushing in the control bar which reciprocally receives a pin fixed in the saw bar. Though the saw bar is free to reciprocate within the control knob, turning of the control knob will cause a like turning of the saw bar, so that the control knob determines the angular position of the saw bar. A lock pin is transversely slidable with respect to the control knob, and is actuated by a slide button mounted in the handle of the housing. The lock pin has a tapered tip which will lock or unlock the control knob by engagement with angled slots found in the external flange of the saw bar bushing upon aligning said slot with the lock pin by turning the control knob. The slots are set at convenient angles of cutting. When the lock pin is removed from the slots in the flange, the control bar is in an unlocked position and can be manually manipulated so as to suitably position the cutting edge of the saw blade, as in scroll cutting.
