Abstract: The method for determining at least one parameter of an apparatus (100) including a closure, privacy or sun protection screen (2) is at least partially implemented by a tool for configuring the apparatus, and includes at least (E10) obtaining a first set (E1) of adjustable parameters for defining the apparatus, including at least one parameter related to the geometry of the screen in the apparatus; (E20) obtaining a second set (E2) of fixed parameters for defining the apparatus; (E60) calculating the shade produced by the screen of the apparatus at at least one moment in time provided by a timestamp, the screen being considered to be in an at least partially deployed position; and (E70) using (E70) the calculated shade in defining the value of at least one first parameter of the first set.
