摘要： An image comprises pixels, and has repetitive high-frequency information. Decision circuitry identifies the repetitive high-frequency information in at least a subset of the pixels of the image to provide a repetitive-sequence signal. A low-pass filter filters the image to produce low-pass filtered pixels. A switch outputs the pixels of the image as adaptive-filter output, and in response to the repetitive-sequence signal, outputs the low-pass filtered pixels as the adaptive-filter output.

摘要： This is a security and identification system designed to obtain improved images for use by real-time facial recognition and identification systems for screening individuals passing through secure entry or checkpoints such as airport passenger terminals, government offices, and other secure locations. The system detects the presence of a subject at the checkpoint, interactively instructs the subject to stop and move into position for proper identification and recognition, analyzes the facial features of the subject as (s)he passes through the checkpoint, and compares the features of the subject with those in a database. The system then generates different signals depending upon whether or not the subject is recognized. In one aspect of the invention, different methods and apparatus are provided for compensating for low ambient light so as to improve the quality of the facial image of the subject that is obtained.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention include systems, methods and apparatus for amplifying a composite video signal transmitted over long distance unshielded twisted pair cabling. The apparatus and system may include a plurality of amplifiers, an analog switch, and a control unit. The control unit generates a configuration signal to enable the output of one or more amplifiers (which may be serially connected) and configure the analog switch. A user input may be provided for manually configuring the amplifiers and analog switch. When the video signal is a color signal, the control unit may automatically configure the amplifiers and analog switch with reference to the amplitude of the color burst.
