Abstract: A display apparatus includes a first substrate including a display area and a peripheral area outside the display area, a display layer disposed in the display area and including first to third light-emitting elements, a shield pattern portion including a lower pattern layer disposed in the peripheral area and surrounding at least part of the display layer, and an upper pattern layer disposed above the lower pattern layer and electrically connected to the lower pattern layer through contact holes in an insulating layer covering the lower pattern layer, a second substrate disposed above the display layer, and a sealing portion surrounding at least a part of the display layer, disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, covering one side of the shield pattern portion in a direction toward the display layer, and overlapping the contact holes.

The discharge element includes at least one electrode layer, at least one discharge layer on the electrode layer, and at least one first insulating layer between the electrode layer and the discharge layer, and a distance from an upper surface of the lower substrate to an upper surface of the discharge layer is greater than or equal to a distance from the upper surface of the lower substrate to an upper surface of a top layer of the thin film transistor.
