Abstract: Disclosed is a method of operating an electronic device including mounting a first file system and mounting a second file system on the first file system, wherein the first file system and the second file system are included in a plurality of stackable file systems; receiving an open request for a file of an application program; generating a first file object corresponding to a first file in the first file system and a second file object corresponding to a second file in the second file system, in response to the request; and configuring a link between the first file object and the second file object.
