Abstract: A terminal includes a first input interface configured to acquire first search information of a first data type, and a second input interface configured to acquire second search information of a second data type, the first data type being different from the second data type. The terminal further includes a searcher configured to identify whether search information is acquired from at least one among the first input interface and the second input interface, and acquire a search result from data storage based on the search information, in response to the searcher identifying that the search information is acquired from at least one among the first input interface and the second input interface. The terminal further includes an output interface configured to provide the search result.

Abstract: A method for providing a UI and a portable apparatus applying the same are provided. The method for providing the UI of the portable apparatus includes determining whether motion of shaking the portable apparatus a predetermined number of times is input or not using a sensor included in the portable apparatus, and, if the motion of shaking the portable apparatus the predetermined number of times is input, providing haptic feedback according to a number of pieces of information displayed on a notice window of the portable apparatus. Accordingly, if a predetermined event occurs, haptic feedback corresponding to the predetermined event is provided, so that the user can identify the event without seeing a display.
