Abstract: Provided are a user equipment performing a blind decoding operation, and an operating method of the user equipment. An operating method of a user equipment includes receiving a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) including a plurality of control channel elements (CCEs) corresponding to one control resource set (e.g. a CORESET), determining a division value corresponding to a number of CCEs to be included in at least a first group of N groups of CCEs based on PDCCH configuration-related information, dividing the plurality of CCEs into the N groups based on the division value, performing CCE to resource element (RE) demapping on the first group, and decoding the demapped first group.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication is described. A user equipment performs data communication based on a polar code with a base station by obtaining a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidate from at least one search area in a frequency band for the data communication, performing error detection on frozen bits of the PDCCH candidate, determining whether the PDCCH candidate is a valid PDCCH candidate based on a result of the error detection, and selectively performing polar decoding on the PDCCH candidate based on a determination result of the valid PDCCH candidate.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for operating a list Viterbi decoder. A path metric difference (PMD) threshold is set based on an input signal level and a PMD limit value. Decoding is performed by using the PMD threshold. Performing the decoding includes determining a PMD of a best path, comparing the determined PMD and the PMD threshold, and declaring a decoding failure and ending performing of the decoding, if the PMD is greater than or equal to the PMD threshold.
