Abstract: A portable device and a screen changing method of a portable device are provided, which display a second screen corresponding to detected successive motions of first and second touches on an edge touch screen that has a main display area, and a first (or left) edge display area and a second (or right) edge display area, each of which is extended from the main display area, and displays a first screen among a plurality of screens. The device and method may further display a second screen different from a first screen among a plurality of screens corresponding to directions of detected successive motions of first and second touches on an edge touch screen that has a main display area, and a first edge display area and a second edge display area, each of which is extended from the main display area, and displays a first screen among a plurality of screens.
