A method and an apparatus for photographing using a portable terminal are provided. The apparatus includes an interface for intuitively identifying different photographing compositions in a preview mode and supports photographing a subject according to each composition selected by a user in the interface. The method includes driving a camera module and displaying a plurality of images in a multi-preview window corresponding to a plurality of compositions.

The method and apparatus include a preview display operation of displaying a first image output from a first image sensor as a main image, and displaying a second image photographed by a second image sensor as a sub-image. A panorama photography operation of buffering the main image is executed when a panorama photography operation is requested. The sub-image is captured from a preset frame. When the panorama photographing operation is terminated, a composition panorama is generated from a panorama image of the main image, and compositing with the captured sub-image.

The electronic device includes a display, a display controller configured to operate the display using a first lighting parameter and a second lighting parameter to generate an afterimage effect for objects included in images, a camera configured to capture an image to be displayed by the display, and a processor configured to determine a camera operation parameter corresponding to a final lighting parameter of the display for a capture operation of the camera. Therefore the electronic device according to various embodiments of the present disclosure can capture a high quality image in a dark environment.
