Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a 5th generation (5G) or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data transfer rate than a 4th generation (4G) communication system such as long term evolution (LTE). According to various embodiments of the present disclosure, a method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system may comprise the steps of: determining whether a reference signal received power (RSRP) of a reference for downlink path loss is equal to or greater than a threshold value; if the RSRP is greater than the threshold value, setting a random access type to 2-step random access; and if the RSRSP is not greater than the threshold value, setting the random access type to 4-step random access.

Abstract: A communication connection method of an access point is provided. The communication connection method according to an embodiment includes acquiring information of a first encryption key corresponding to an external device from a user terminal based on a request for communication connection using the first encryption key being received from the external device, performing a communication connection with the external device using the first encryption key, generating a second encryption key corresponding to the external device while the communication connection using the first encryption key is performed, transmitting the generated second encryption key to the external device, and performing the communication connection with the external device using the generated second encryption key based on a request for communication connection using the generated second encryption key being received from the external device after the communication connection using the first encryption key is terminated.
