Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a device and a method for managing the weight of a user in an electronic device. The electronic device comprises: a housing; a touch screen display exposed through at least a part of the housing; a motion sensor disposed in the housing; a wireless communication circuit disposed in the housing; a processor electrically connected to the touch screen display, the motion sensor and the wireless communication circuit, and disposed in the housing; and a memory electrically connected to the processor and disposed in the housing, wherein the memory can store instructions, during the execution thereof, allowing the processor to: use the motion sensor so as to obtain data related to a movement of the user carrying the electronic device; determine the type and the duration of the movement on the basis of at least a part of the obtained data; obtain a first value related to the food intake of the user; determine a second value indicating the calories consumed by the user on the basis of at least a part of a weighted value related to the type of movement and the type and the duration of the movement; determine a third value on the basis of at least a part of the first value and the second value; and provide a graphic user interface to the touch screen display on the basis of at least a part of the third value.
