    Abstract: Provided is an electronic device and method of correcting a location of a vehicle on a map. The electronic device for correcting a location of a moving vehicle on a map includes a location measurement device configured to obtain location information of the vehicle, an imaging device configured to generate a captured image by photographing a plurality of objects located near the vehicle, a sensor configured to output a sensing signal toward surroundings of the vehicle and receive a sensing signal reflected from the plurality of objects, and a processor configured to determine the location of the vehicle on the map, to select at least one of the plurality of objects in the captured image, to calculate a first distance between the selected at least one object and the vehicle based on the reflected sensing signal, and to correct the location of the vehicle on the map based on the calculated first distance.

    Abstract: An electronic device for and a method of assisting vehicle driving are provided. The electronic device includes a plurality of cameras configured to capture a surrounding image around a vehicle; at least one sensor configured to sense an object around the vehicle; and a processor configured to obtain, during vehicle driving, a plurality of image frames as the surrounding image of the vehicle is captured based on a preset time interval by using the plurality of cameras, based on the object is sensed using the at least one sensor while the vehicle is being driven, extract an image frame corresponding to a time point when and a location where the object has been sensed, from among the obtained plurality of image frames, perform object detection from the extracted image frame, and perform object tracking of tracking a change in the object, from a plurality of image frames obtained after the extracted image frame. The present disclosure also relates to an artificial intelligence (AI) system that utilizes a machine learning algorithm, such as deep learning, and applications of the AI system.

    Abstract: A method of acquiring distance information of an object by using a LiDAR apparatus includes: irradiating a first laser light of a first type toward surroundings of the LiDAR apparatus for a first time period; receiving a first reflected laser light of the first laser light reflected from a first object located around the LiDAR apparatus, by using an optical sensor of the LiDAR apparatus; irradiating a second laser light of a second type, which is different from the first type, toward the surroundings of the LiDAR apparatus for a second time period following the first time period; receiving a second reflected laser light of the second laser light reflected from a second object located around the LiDAR apparatus, by using the optical sensor; and acquiring an image frame including distance information representing a distance between the LiDAR apparatus and the first object and distance information representing a distance between the LiDAR apparatus and the second object, based on the first reflected laser light and the second reflected laser light.

    Abstract: Provided is a light detection and ranging (LIDAR) device. The LIDAR device includes: a light source configured to emit a first light beam; a photodetector configured to detect a second light beam, the second light beam being a reflected or scattered light beam of the first light beam reflected or scattered by an object; and a diverging member comprising a reflective material configured to diverge the first light beam in various directions by rotating about a rotation axis, the first light beam being incident on the diverging member from the light source a converging member comprising an optical element including one or more of a refractive and/or reflective material configured to converge the second light beam from the object and configured to cause the second light beam to be incident on the photodetector; and a processor configured to obtain location information of the object using a detection result of the photodetector.
