Abstract: A method and a system for managing application data in a communication device when the application processor is in an inactive state are provided. The method includes identifying an application processor in an inactive state based on an event. In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the event can include detecting inactivity of a user. Further, the method includes communicating the application data with an application server by an agent in the communication device. In an embodiment of the present disclosure, uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) application data is transmitted and received to and from the application server respectively by the agent in the communication device. The application processor invokes the agent for managing the application data with the application server when the application processor is in the active state.
