Abstract: A method and an electronic device are provided for recovering a depth map from an observed infrared (IR) image. Speckles are illuminated in an IR spectrum by a projector of the electronic device. Speckles on a horizon image are captured by an IR camera of the electronic device. Projector distortion is estimated based on speckle locations in the horizon image.
