    Abstract: A portable biometric authentication device communicates with a terminal device using near field communication (NFC). The portable biometric authentication device includes; a NFC antenna, a power supply circuit that generates at least one power voltage in response to an electromagnetic field generated by the terminal device and received via the NFC antenna, a sensor subsystem that operates in response to the at least one power voltage and includes a biometric sensor that acquires biometric information from a user, and a control subsystem that operates in response to the at least one power voltage and includes a NFC controller that controls the communication of the biometric information to the terminal device using the NFC antenna.

    Abstract: A method of operating a mobile device comprises executing a trusted service application in a trusted operating system through secure access, executing a trusted web server module in the trusted operating system, wherein the trusted web server module is configured to transfer information using an internet protocol and the information is generated by execution of the trusted service application, and executing a user application in a rich operating system through normal access, wherein the user application is configured to relay communication between a remote web server and the trusted web server module through a security session.

    Abstract: A method of updating firmware of a near field communication (NFC) device includes copying metadata, which is included in a firmware image file, from an application processor to the NFC device. One of a certification success signal and a certification fail signal is provided from the NFC device to the application processor after the NFC device verifies an integrity of the metadata. Firmware data, which is included in the firmware image file, is copied from the application processor to the NFC device when the application processor receives the certification success signal from the NFC device.
