    Abstract: A method and apparatus for modifying a screen displayed by a mobile terminal are provided. The method includes displaying an application on the screen of the mobile terminal; displaying, simultaneously with the displayed application, a card in a predefined area of the screen, the card comprising information corresponding to the application; detecting an input on the screen of the mobile terminal; modifying a display of at least one of the card and the predefined area based on a type of the input and a position of the input on the screen, wherein, when the detected input is an input selecting one of a plurality of objects displayed within the card each corresponding to a different operation, modifying the display comprises performing the operation corresponding to the selected object.
