    摘要: The present invention relates to a process and plant for the recovery of carbon dioxide from a gas stream by means of pressure swing adsorption using an adsorbent, such as X or Y type Zeolite adsorbents. The gas feed stream suitably has a moderate concentration of carbon dioxide, such as gas emitted from the filling bowl of the carbonated drinks bottling plant and is recovered without rinsing or purging the adsorbent with a high purity carbon dioxide gas stream. The process therefore provides the advantage of being capturing carbon dioxide from the effluent that would otherwise be emitted to the atmosphere and captures the carbon dioxide in a manner that minimises operational and capital expenditure. The present invention also relates to a process for utilizing one dry stream from a gas separation unit (adsorption or membrane process) to conduct evaporative cooling of water, which is used as the water in a liquid ring vacuum pump thereby decreasing the vacuum level and improving the performance.

    摘要: The present invention relates to reactor vessels such as absorbing or stripping columns that are suitable for capturing carbon dioxide from flue gas streams of fossil fuel fired powered stations such as coal fired power stations generating 100 to 500 MW. The side walls of the reactors are made of concrete or structural ceramics that are preferrably steel reinforced. The reactors are on a sufficiently large scale such that a flue gas stream in the order of at least 1,000 t/hr and normally greater than 2,000 or 3,000 t/hr can be scrubbed of carbon dioxide in a single absorption column and then recovered in a stripping column. The absorbing and stripping columns may be free standing structures or, alternatively, the absorbing column may be located at least partially within the stripping column.

    摘要: A vacuum swing adsorption process for separating a feed gas mixture into a more strongly adsorbable component and a less strongly adsorbable component in a process employing two vacuum pumps and three adsorbent beds containing an adsorbent selective for the more strongly adsorbable component using countercurrent depressurization and cocurrent ambient feed repressurization simultaneous with product end to product end pressure equalization and a common-shaft machinery arrangement which allows the expansion energy contained in the countercurrent depressurization and cocurrent ambient feed repressurization streams to be recovered and utilized to reduce overall process power consumption. Addition of three valves and an expander element will also allow expansion energy in the product purge and pressure equalization streams to be recovered. Oxygen product can be recovered from air at low cost using the process.
